Stormwater comes from rainfall, moving water, or runoff rainwater that washes over the loose soil on a construction site. It can carry various materials and products stored outside, including pollutants like sediment, debris, and chemicals from the loose soil. This polluted stormwater can make its way to nearby storm sewer systems or directly into rivers, lakes, or coastal waters. The Construction General Permit (CGP) requires proper management of stormwater with the goal to limit those pollutants.

The Stormwater Management: Construction General Permit program consists of 3 modules:

  • Pollution Prevention Planning
  • Control Measures and Corrective Actions
  • Inspections and Recordkeeping
  • Regulations Covered: 40 CFR §122
  • Intended Audience: Employees and Managers who work in construction environments.
  • Languages: English and Spanish
