Caution: Radiation Area Sign with Graphic - OSHA
- Follows signal word and message text format (size, color, etc.) of OSHA regulations 29 CFR 1910.145 and 1926.200
- OSHA §1910.145(d)(4) requires caution signs to have a yellow background and a black panel with yellow letters; any letters against the yellow background must be black
- OSHA §1910.1096(e)(1) requires the radiation caution symbol to use a magenta or purple, three-bladed design on a yellow background
- OSHA §1910.1096(e)(2) requires each radiation area to be conspicuously posted with a sign or signs bearing the radiation caution symbol and the words CAUTION RADIATION AREA
- “Radiation Area” means any area, accessible to personnel, in which there exists radiation at such levels that a major portion of the body could receive in any one hour a dose in excess of 5 millirem, or in any five consecutive days a dose in excess of 100 millirem. A “Radiation Area” is not the same as a “High Radiation Area,” a term that means any area, accessible to personnel, in which there exists radiation at such levels that a major portion of the body could receive in any one hour a dose in excess of 100 millirem.
